A reminder that our next screening, this Thursday 27 November, is the last screening for the year. The Society will resume after the holiday season, in late January 2015. Next year’s program is soon to be announced.
We will be screening Theo Angelopoulos’ feature film “The Beekeeper” (1986) 122′. We are aiming for a 7.00 pm start to allow some time for discussion at the end.
Synopsis
A retired school teacher (Marcello Mastroianni), estranged from his wife and married daughter, sets off on a journey through the Greek countryside, following his family’s tradi- tional beekeeper routes. Along the way he tries to reconnect with life through a casual rela- tionship with a young female hitchhiker, but his connection to the world has become tenuous.
