Master of the Shadows (DIR. Lefteris Xanthopoulos)
In the early 1950s, a proud master of the traditional shadow theatre finds himself competing with the rising popularity of cinema. As he struggles to keep his audiences and his financial viability, he comes into conflict with his young apprentices and sister looking towards a different future. Starring well-known actors Kostas Kazakos, Giorgos Ninios and Stratos Tzortzoglou.
Τhe film was Greece’s official entry in the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival.

Στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’50, ένας περήφανος και καταξιωμένος καραγκιοζοπαίκτης βρίσκεται αντιμέτωπος με την άνοδο του σινεμά. Καθώς παλεύει να διατηρήσει το κοινό του και να επιβιώσει οικονομικά, έρχεται σε σύγκρουση με τους νεαρούς μαθητευόμενους και την αδερφή του που αναζητούν ένα διαφορετικό μέλλον. Πρωταγωνιστούν οι γνωστοί ηθοποιοί Κώστας Καζάκος, Γιώργος Νινιός και Στράτος Τζώρτζογλου.
Επίσημη συμμετοχή της Ελλάδας στο Δεκαπενθήμερο Σκηνοθετών του Κινηματογραφικού Φεστιβάλ των Καννών.
